Hi friends,
I have some updates.
After careful consideration and introspection (and much back and forth), I’m renaming the newsletter from The Misfit to Notes From The Margin.
I believe Notes From The Margin is more representative of my work, where I explore untold and inspirational stories about empowering marginalized communities through financial freedom.
The decision to rename the newsletter was not taken lightly. I’m glad I’ve found a name that I believe appropriately encompasses my mission.
What’s The Meaning Behind “Notes From The Margin?”
Notes From The Margin first and foremost refers to marginalized communities; individuals or groups of people who face social, political, or financial disadvantages through no fault of their own.
These communities are often pushed to the forgotten edges of society, enduring hardships and barriers that prevent them from accessing opportunities, and resources, or wielding any decision-making power.
Notes From The Margin also communicates my love of writing, for telling stories, and sharing with you what I learn.
Finally, Notes From The Margin obviously refers to written comments or annotations made in the margins of a book, document, or paper. Often these notes represent clarifications, explanations, or personal insights that support, improve, or dispute the original content. With this newsletter, I hope to bring you exactly that - the untold stories that are often excluded from the mainstream media.
Ultimately, I believe that within marginalized communities exists an enormous untapped potential – that when unleashed through economic and financial empowerment will uplift the world in ways we can’t imagine.
In a world brimming with fake news, misinformation, and one-sided agendas, Notes From The Margin is my contribution to seeking truth and financial empowerment for every last individual and community in this world.
From inspiring individual stories to companies solving problems, and tools like Bitcoin and Nostr, I hope to bring some inspiration to your inbox each week.
What’s Next?
You can expect the same thought-provoking and engaging newsletters you've come to love, but now presented under this new title. Your subscription and access to my past content should not be affected by this change.
From my end, I’ll continue my pursuit of finding interesting and inspiring stories that have fueled The Misfit for a little while now. I’m hoping to introduce more new types of content (like more OpEd pieces), subscriber benefits, and surprises to make your reading experience more enriching.
If you have any feedback for me, please do let me know. I want to hear from you! I really mean that.
Lastly… And Most Importantly.
Thank YOU so much for showing up to my newsletter week after week. I count each of you as a friend that I desperately wish to meet in person. I’m sure that if we did we would have some of the most epic conversations and we would probably be lifelong friends. Just a hunch feeling.
On that note, a special thank you to some of you who have been with me since the beginning of time and witnessed the transformation of my newsletter. I know who you are and I thank my lucky stars for your patience and support as I navigate the world of newsletters (which – by the way – is not always an easy thing to grow when you have no money for advertising like the big newsletters do).
I spend hours each week trying to find and write compelling stories in the hopes of expanding your mind and way of thinking about the world. More importantly, as a way of helping you inch your way closer to freedom. If ever I can improve on this, please do let me know.
Finally, your support has sustained the newsletter and carried me through the process of writing, which I believe is the most effective way to change the world. Because, as the cliche goes, pen is mightier than sword.
“Ideas change the world, particularly when they are written. The Romans built buildings, and the Romans and the buildings are both gone. The Jews wrote a book, and they are still here, and so is the book. So it turns out that words may well last longer than stone, and have more impact than whole empires.” – Dr. Jordan B. Peterson
Thank you for being an integral part of my newsletter’s growth. I am immensely grateful to you and excited about the future of Notes From The Margin.
Con cariño,
– Ayelen xx
